It’s been almost two years, but I finally used some of the fabric from the stash of fabric that I brought home with me from Japan in 2023! Most of the wisteria pieces I’ve made in the past have been two-tone, white and purple. I’ve been wanting to change it up and do gradiated pieces, so I’m really happy I took the time to cut the fabric during the last few fabric prep hell weeks.

One of the funniest things for me about my own art creation process is that the impossible task moves around. The impossible task is a task that doesn’t sound all that hard on paper, but feels impossible in the moment as you are trying to work on it. For me, the impossible tasks changes periodically. One of the things I was really struggling with back in 2023 when I bought this fabric was not wanting to dye more purple fabric. I’d made a lot of purple pieces, and had done a lot of purple dye work that year.

So I bought light, medium and dark purple shades of silk habotai when I was visiting Japan thinking this might resolve my impossible task issue. Unfortunately, this created a whole other impossible task – which was avoiding cutting expensive fabric that I bought rather than dyeing myself!

I’ve gotten over it now, of course. I’m hoping to work on some wisteria hair accessories next using these purple tones.

Anyhoo, that is all I’ve got for today. I hope to see you guys again next week with more crafty creative projects.
