It’s that time again… time for another sketch dump! I’ve been really good about doing sketches the last few weeks, so it was hard to choose which sketches to go with. But, these are my three favorites.
First up, we have a sketch of The Rocketeer. I loved this movie as a kid. I think one of the things that stuck with me the most was the large clam shell in the background of the ball scenes. I loved that the pearl inside it was a light, and that it opened and closed. I wanted a bed like that – including the light, so I could use it as a reading light.
Recently there’s been rumors that Disney wants to do a remake of The Rocketeer. As much as I love the original, I am excited at the prospect of a Rocketeer remake. You’d think that as many times as we’ve been burned by remakes in recent years that I would be more skeptical, but I think the Rocketeer is one of those movies that was fun, but not so amazingly good that it would actually be shameful to remake it. How do you feel about a Rocketeer remake?
Next up, I have a quick drawing of a fox-eared girl. My husband is a big fan of foxes, so when I saw this prompt I knew I needed to draw it. Also, it’s really cute. How could I resist?
And the last one for this month is the most adorable prompt of all – a lynx kitten. My husband is generally not a fan of cats, he only sort of tolerates my cat, but when he saw the prompt for this lynx kitten he was super excited. I think I might have to do a finished version of this drawing for him at some point.
If you follow my Instagram or Twitter, I’ll be posting a fourth ‘honorable mention’ sketch that didn’t make the blog later this week. I also update there with little in-progress updates for all my projects, for anyone who wants to keep up with what I am up to between blog posts.
Anyhoo, that is all for this week. Check back next week for more art, crafts and cookery!
