It’s been a busy week here in Toontown. All of my supply packages came in the mail so this week I’ve been cutting and detailing the last three bracelets and four necklaces left on my to do list for Flora and Fauna Kickstarter rewards.
I’ve also set up a new Instagram for my cat, Isabelle. If you like daily cat pictures with funny comments from the perspective of a cat, consider following @Hissabelle.
Now that we’ve got all that out of the way, I still have a new project to share with ya’ll this week – a Thumbelina Paper Doll Set.
Since paper dolls can be delicate, I felt like I needed to make a folder to keep the dolls safe and give them a place to live. The outside of the folder is fairly plain and simple; but when you open the folder it turns into a ‘theater’ display for your paper dolls.
There are also two dolls – Thumbelina and a swallow. I really enjoyed how this bird turned out. I don’t draw detailed animals too often, so it was nice to do something a little different. For Thumbelina herself I went with a art nouveau faerie look. I must admit, I was a little inspired by the Thumbelina cartoon of olde.
Now that the Kickstarter rewards are winding down, I’m going to start pushing ahead with stock for my Etsy shop. I’ve got ideas for more paper dolls, art cards, postcards and kanzashi, which should give you an idea of what’s coming down the pipeline.
